Feminism. When you hear this word what do you think? A lot of negative press has been surrounding this word and really, there is nothing negative about feminism. It brought so much joy to us when we watched Emma Watson give a speech at the UN that focused on gender equality and the He for She Campaign. Emma is the newly appointed UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador. "It's not the word that's important, it's the ambition behind it. It's time we stop defining each other for what we are not, and start defining ourselves for who we are", said Emma during her speech.

We couldn't agree more.

As business women, we are so fortunate for the opportunity to be entrepreneurs and value women in the workplace. But, it goes beyond the workplace too-it is a mindset change that needs to occur for both genders. Women should have equal rights to men and this is a message that should not only be spread by women, but by men too. Emma notes that in her speech when she states: "I want men to take up this mantle so their daughters, sisters and mothers can be free from prejudice but also so that their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human too – reclaim those parts of themselves they abandoned, and in doing so be a more true and complete version of themselves.”

Watch her speech above and make a conscience decision to be apart of the movement. To learn more about He For She, visit the site here.
