Gifts for Dad {2014}

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Father's Day is coming up in a few weeks (June 15th) and it's time to start thinking of what you should get your Pops.  You don't want to give a boring gift, but you also don't want to spend too much money- so, once again, TSS is here to the rescue!

For the Dad that Loves his TV Shows & Movies
Try getting him the new Google Chromecast or the Amazon Fire TV!  They're both very affordable and mobile so your dad can take it basically anywhere.  He will be able to watch his TV shows and movies from Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Instant Movies so he can download the newest movie right away!  Pretty cool, right?

For the Classic Dad
The one type of sunglasses that looks good on practically everyone and anyone, it would definitely have to be the Ray-Ban Classic Wayfarer.  Sunglasses can be tough to buy for someone else, but with the tortoise Wayfarers, you can't go wrong!

For the Bearded Dad
Who knew having a beard can cause dry and itchy skin?  For all of the dad's that have a beard, you can't go wrong with getting him a good beard oil.  The Blackbird beard oil is the newest "coolest" beard oil that is slightly scented with cedar and made with all-natural argan oil.

For the Golf Loving Dad
The Swingbyte is the perfect gift for the techy dad that loves golf.  The Swingbyte clips onto the golf club that syncs with the Swingbyte app to analyze your swing in realtime!  It records the swing via bluetooth and gives you full online analytics so your dad can improve his golf skills!

For the Dad that Loves to Grill
The Grillbot is exactly what it sounds like- it's a robot for your grill.  Don't make your dad do all the hard work of cleaning the grill after he just made everyone a delicious meal!  Just get him a Grillbot that will automatically clean the grill for him!

For the Outdoorsy Dad
If your dad loves to go to the lake or the ocean the SWIMS loafers are the best shoes you can get your Pops!  These are the perfect waterproof loafers that your dad can wear practically everywhere and anywhere and still stay stylish, of course.

For the Frequently-Traveling Dad
You can never go wrong with a good traveling bag.  The Filson travel kit is the perfect little bag for your dad to carry and protect all of his important items.  Whether it's his passport or his toiletries, it's the perfect classic bag that your dad can use all the time!

What are some of your other Father's Day gift ideas??

TSS Favorite Things {May}

This month for our Favorite Things we are featuring Hayden Reis tote bags! It is the perfect summer accessory and we really have enjoyed our totes. So who is Hayden Reis? Hayden Reis is a colorful collection of chic, functional and playful sailcloth totes and accessories that are proudly made in the USA. The line, created by fashion-forward Florida native Emily Stroud, was designed to solve a familiar fashion dilemma. You are a lover of designer handbags, but occasionally you need a tote bag that is big enough to carry the kitchen sink that is stylish at the same time. After all, no well-dressed gal wants to damage a Louis or get grime on a Gucci. Karen recently used her Big Island Black & Sand White Zipper Tote in Cabo, Mexico for a wedding and she said it was the perfect beach tote bag because it was durable and surprisingly spacious. The material is water-proof and the designs come a plenty! When you're getting ready to take a trip to the pool or beach, consider Hayden Reis!

How To Curl Your Hair With a Straightener

Ok, so for the longest time we have been wondering how exactly you can get awesome curls using a straightener. We are totally old school in our techniques so we have always resorted to traditional curling irons because they're so straight forward. We even have gone the route of the Magic Wand, but there has still been something so intriguing about a regular old straightener. So we watched our friends, took notes and tried it out ourselves and we are hooked now! Here's a little step-by-step for you to try it out yourself!

Step 1: Section off a small piece of your hair with your fingers or a small comb.

Step 2: Hold your strand of sectioned off hair in one hand and with the other hand clamp your straightener (facing toward you) at the top of the sectioned off hair.

Step 3: Proceed to twist your hair around the straightener as you glide the straightener down your strand of hair.

Step 4: Release the straightener and admire your pretty, wavy curl! Repeat until your whole hair is looking curly and glamorous!

Bonus: Run a comb through your curls for a soft, calm curly look!

10 Date Night Movies to Watch at Home!

While we love movie theater dates, there is something about cozying up on the couch  enjoying your favorite movie with your significant other--right?! There are so many movies that can be snagged via Redbox, Netflix or OnDemand. All of these options are readily available, some by the click of your remote. We decided to help you out on some fun date night movies to watch at home. Check out our list below and let us know some of your favorites by commenting below!

1. Silver Linings Play Book: Not your typical "Romantic" movie so your boy would probably love it!  It's a great movie with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper dancing in it- who wouldn't love it?

2. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days: Well... who hasn't seen it??

3. Friends with Benefits: Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis are in it... need we say more?

4. Sleepless in Seattle: THE Romantic Comedy. It's most likely every women's favorite chick flick!

5. 500 Days of Summer:  This is not a love story... this is a story about love. If you want something funny, cute, love, and REAL- this is your movie.

6. Say Anything: Yup, it's that one movie with John Cusack holding a 80s radio above his head confessing his love. If you want to watch a classic, this is it!

7. 10 Things I Hate About You: Old school favorite for sure! It's a witty comedy that shows how far a guy will go to get a date!

8. There's Something About Mary: All we have to say is Cameron Diaz + Ben Stiller = pure comedy. Definitely a good laugh from beginning to end.

9. My Best Friend's WeddingWhen a woman's long-time friend says he's engaged, she realizes she loves him herself... and sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding.

10. 50 First DatesHenry Roth (Adam Sandler) is a man afraid of commitment up until he meets the beautiful Lucy (Drew Barrymore). They hit it off and Henry thinks he's finally found the girl of his dreams, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and forgets him the very next day.

Lucky FABB with {The Stylist LA}

We just can't get enough of The Stylist LA!  As you have seen Ali and Karen in The Stylist LA's amazing dresses, Sakura also was able to grab a couple dresses and even visit the showroom in LA!  Sakura recently had the opportunity to attend the Lucky Magazine's Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference in West Hollywood and she made sure to make a stop at The Stylist LA's showroom to grab a few outfits!

Before we get into the details of Sakura's outfits, can we talk about how cute their showroom is?  They have everything from Nightcap Clothing, Naven, to our one of our favorite brand, Parker!

If this is your first time hearing about The Stylist LA- this is how it works:

1.  Visit www.TheStylistLA.com or make an appointment to visit the showroom in Venice, Los Angeles.  E-mail: info@thestylistla.com | Phone: (310) 331-8539

2. Rent the dress for 5 days for a fraction of the retail price

3. Just slip in the mail after you're done with the event!

The best part about it is that shipping is all included in the pricing!

Now, let's get into Sakura's outfits for the Lucky FABB event!  On the first day, she wore the Parker Clarence Dress, which was the perfect sophisticated-but-cute dress for the conference!  She then attended the Saturday brunch with her fellow blogger friend, Ashley from Golden Divine, wearing the Nightcap Belize Fit & Flare Dress in White and ended the weekend with the perfect girls night out dress wearing the Parker Hayden dress!

They always have new inventory and you don't even have to dry clean it! They just think of everything!

A special thank you to Emily and her amazing team!
