Gifts For Her: Signature Scents

Before you know it, Christmas {or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate} will be here! While gifts aren't everything, we certainly understand it is widely practiced by many, so don't fall behind on fulfilling your friends and family's gift wish list. We have decided to pull some items from different gift categories to help you have some selections when choosing the perfect gift for a special girlfriend, your Mom or sister in your life.

Today, we have compiled our favorite fragrances for HER. When it comes to fragrances, you really cannot be stingy. Your scent is just as important as your outfit and often times your scent walks into a room before you do. When thinking of selections we have high end, splurge options like Café Rose by Tom Ford which gives off a strong, yet floral and sophisticated scent. Then you have a little more middle end scents to choose from like Si by Giorgio Armani or Bella by Vince Camuto which is a newer scent. Whichever scent you choose, opt for the gift set option! You get more bang with your buck as you can add in a lotion and often times smaller bottle of the perfume in addition to the actual perfume.

What are some of your favorite scents?

First Date Perfection

Look One.  Peach Dress: similar here.  Platform Sandals: Jessica Simpson.
Look Two.  Blouse: Express.  Jeans: 7 For All Mankind.  Shoes: Vince Camuto (similar here).
Look Three.  Dress: RVCA.

First dates, so exciting but at the same time a little stressful. So many things are going through your mind, but most girls are usually worried about one thing... what to wear!  The perfect first date outfit is not necessarily about the brand you are wearing, but instead an outfit that brings out your confidence. What you wear on a first date tells a guy a lot about your personality, so you want to bring out your inner beauty with the right outfit selection. Here are a few tips that will hopefully help for your future first dates!

Tip one: wear something that is classy but flirty. Something like a fuller skirt, flirty dress. Dresses like this are super flattering-- they radiate confidence, and feminine charm! Throw in some chunky heels and statement accessories for a night on the town.  I love this sweet peach dress with the touches of lace, it's date night perfection!

Tip two: wear something with a pop of color.  Leave the black and grey for the office! Wearing color shows off the vibrant side of your personality. The blouses from Express are classy and cute, and come in a bunch of pretty colors.  When choosing a color, choose something that compliments your skin tone. Your date will think you're a knock out!

Tip three: don’t feel the need to get too dolled up. Some first dates could be going to a sports game, or a lunch date. Go with something that is comfortable but fitting, like a maxi dress with summer sandals.  This one from RVCA has become one of my personal favorites!

Hopefully these tips can help alleviate some of those first date jitters.  Always remember to be your beautiful and unique self, and just have fun!

It Girl Trend Report: Favorite Summer Sandals

As much as we love boots in the fall and a nice pair of UGGs in the winter, we look forward to hanging those up and giving our feet a breather in some cute summer sandals. There are always so many sandal styles to choose from that we asked our It Girls to share with us their summer go-to sandals for this week's Trend Report. One thing is for sure, wearing sandals is the perfect excuse to show off your fabulous pedicure. Victoria loves to show off her painted toes in her Nine West glitter sandals. As a true sorority girl, crafting and glitter runs in her veins, so when she saw these sandals it was love at first sight. Victoria added,  "They're great paired with a flirty summer dress, or even some casual colored shorts, and what girl isn't a sucker for gold glitter?!" Avery and Marisa prefer to wear sandals that are classic and can go with anything. Avery loves her gold sandals from Francescas by the brand called Report. These sandals are so cute and well priced too which is always a bonus! We laughed when Avery admitted, "My two best friends even had to get them...now we always have to call each other before we go out wearing the same shoes". Marisa goes for the gladiator look with her super fab gold Vincent Camuto sandals that she wears with everything during the summer season since she says, "they match with pretty much any summery color". There are always certain brands you can count on for some awesome pair of sandals. Cristina knows she can never go wrong with sandals from Steve Madden. We just love how trendy Steve Madden sandals are- they really are comfortable, fashionable, and can also go with anything. Serena couldn't decide between Lilly Pulitzer and Jack Rogers for her favorite summer sandals so she chose both! "I love both of these sandals because they're pretty and versatile, they can be dressed up or down depending on the outfit. Plus, they go with almost everything". A little embellishment makes all the difference too, so we absolutely loved Allie's favorite summer sandals pick from Chanel. The cute flower embellishments add a perfect summery touch to your feet.

Got a favorite pair of summer sandals? We want to see it! Hashtag them on Instagram or Twitter with #tssummerlook! Don't have Twitter or Instagram? Then leave a comment or send us your summer sandal secret at secret@thesororitysecrets.com!

It's that time of the year... time to send off our seniors!  With graduation right around the corner, we know what's on all of our seniors' minds (well, besides landing the dream job), and it's what to wear to celebrate your graduation in style.  Think lots of pictures, lots of family, and many dear friends.  You want to look and feel like the classy, post-college young woman that you are, ready to take on the world.  Such a grown-up young lady that you have become (as our parents would say)!

That being said, we hand-picked some of our favorite selections for you.  Mom & Dad will love seeing you in a sophisticated style, with a conservative touch.  A more conservative dress does not mean that you have to sacrifice style, as our selections show.  Bright colors and feminine details are everywhere in our picks.  Oh and did we mention- they're all under $200!  After all, you just graduated college, there's no need to break the bank.  These dresses are versatile enough that you could even re-wear one later on as well.  Hello, summer parties and weddings!

Class of 2013, you did it!  May the beginning of your career as a college graduate kick off in tip-top TSS style!

Pastel Palette

{Ali's Outfit} Dress: Victoria's Secret Catalog.  Vest: Urban Outfitters.  Shoes: Vince Camuto (old, similar here).  Earrings: Express.  Bangle: Express.  {Sakura's Outfit} Skirt: Splendid.  Necklace: Nordstrom.  {Karen's Outfit} Top: Forever 21.  Skirt: similar here.   Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here).  Photo Credit: aMaes Photography.

Maybe it's still a little chilly outside, but that doesn't stop us from craving a taste of spring's pastel confections!  This past weekend, we got together for a photo shoot, and braved the cold air for these springtime ensembles.  We can't wait to wear these pretty pastel & sorbet inspired colors all spring season long!  The maxi skirt length helps to carry you from the end of winter season, into springtime.  Which pastel hue are you most excited to wear this spring- mint, peach, lavender, or lime?
